けのが８歳になり、バプテスマを受けました！もう一年も前から楽しみにしてて教義についてレッスンしたり準備してきたのに中だるみのままちょっと失速してしまいましたが、大体１ヶ月前からビショップとの面接、教会堂の使用の予約、プログラムの作成とビショップに確認、招待状の作成、日本に行く直前に衣装の確保をしました。途中で仲良し家族の娘ちゃんも一緒にバプテスマ受けたらどうか、とプライマリーの会長会から打診され合同にすることになり、リフレッシュメントの準備や待ち時間に見せるDVDなど細かいところまで相談できて気が楽になりました。とにかく初めてのことだったのでこういう雑務にばかり目がいってしまいますが、これは次回のための覚書に。けのは面接でも堂々と清い信仰を見せてくれたそうで嬉しく思います。これから一緒に信仰生活をがんばろう。けののバプテスマのためにアコンが来てくれてお話をしてくれました。信仰のルーツを教えてくれて、それが三代に渡って受け継がれているのが喜ばしいというお話でした。なんと友達家族の担当のお話はその娘さんからのご指名でなんとわたしがすることに！シンプルに強く短くを心がけてお話しました。でもそれでも二人ともあんまり聴いてないように見えた。笑。たくさんの方が来てくださって本当に素晴らしい会となりました。進行を助けてくれた方々には感謝の気持ちばかりです。惜しむらくは始まる前に慌てすぎて写真が全然ないこと。。。けのも喜んでくれて本当に素敵な夜になりました！
K turned 8 and he got baptized!! We were so excited and started preparing from the beginning of this year. I started setting things up from a month before his baptism date. That includes, interview with bishop, booking the building, making program and getting approved by bishop, making invitations and got the clothing right before going to Japan. As we were doing these, Primary presidency suggested to have a combined baptism meeting with our good friend family. I’m glad that we did. We shared nervousness and prepared the details together. It was totally new to us, so these notes will help us remember what to do for next time. K was really ready. He has pure faith in God and very confident during the interview. I am excited to walk together with him. His AhKong came for his baptism and gave a talk. He shared how he got to know the truth and faith has been succeeded. I pray K will be able to tell the same thing to his grandson in the future! I was surprised to be asked to give a talk on behalf of the other girl who was getting baptized. She was so sweet to ask me. So many people came for two of them. I feel so grateful for all the people who came and who helped. The only sad part is I was too busy to take photos... anyways, K was so happy that was the most important!!
