Merry Christmas 2017

本当にあわただしく12月を過ごしてしまって、特に何もしないまま迎えてしまったクリスマス。でも今年は特別にクリスマスを楽しみにしていたけののおかげで楽しく過ごせました。けのは家族みんなにプレゼントを手作りで用意して、ツリーに飾ったり、オーナメントを作りました。けのがプレゼントを選べるように一人予算5ドルでプレゼント交換もしました。イブにはピザを作ったり、クッキーを焼いてデコレーションをしました。クリスマスには4時から起きていたけのがメッセージにヒントを書いて隠しておいてみんなで探してつなげる活動を準備してくれてとっても楽しいクリスマスになりました。
I was totally not ready for Christmas besides gifts that I bought a while ago... however Ken was really excited about Christmas this year and he did a lot to make it fun. He made Christmas gifts for each family member and put them on our tree. Yuri got idea from him and made gifts for parents. They also made additional ornaments. We gave them five dollars each to buy gifts for each other. Ken woke up at 4 on Christmas morning and prepared the little game for us to play. He hid the clues and we had fun looking for them. I'm so blessed to have such a brilliant son. We did have a Merry Christmas.

けのは7歳になりました。もう３ヶ月も前からプレゼントをリクエストしていたけの。マムはもう１ヶ月前からプレゼントを準備し終えていました。なので首を長くして待っていた誕生日！けのの希望で朝からDVD見てドーナツ屋さんへ。昼はダディとそり滑り。マムはけのの誕生日恒例のコロッケと今年はケーキでなくアップルパイを焼きました。やっと開けたプレゼントは、もちろんポケモンカード！希望のGXの他に強いカードのセットを買っておきました。けの、大喜び。紙っ切れにこんなに払うのか！と思ったけど、よかった〜と思ったのでした。
Ken turned 7! He requested his birthday gift 3 months ago. I bought his gift a month ago. So we've been waiting for a long time! We did his birthday one day early because it was a Sunday. With his request, I took him to donut shop for breakfast and he watched the movie from morning. Daddy took him for sledding. They had fun. I baked his favorite apple pie instead of cake. After we sang, finally he could open his gift! Pokémon card GX of course. I got other strong cards in addition. He was super happy! I was not happy about paying s much for just a piece of paper but totally worth it at the end!

Happy Brithday Dai

だいが三歳になりました。電車が大好きなので、一日中ただただ電車に乗って過ごしたいということで、そうなりました。前日にゆりにもみあげを切られてしまって丸さが増していますが、今最もかわいい時期！いつもわたしたちを笑わせてくれます。また楽しい一年になりますように！

Our big D turned three! According to his wish, he and daddy spent his birthday riding a train back and forth. He loves train. He is our little cute funny guy and makes us laugh. Wish him a great year of age 3!

Fall

わたしの大好きな秋です❤️農場に行って去年は忙しくて逃してしまった綺麗な秋を満喫して来ました。うちではだいと一緒に落ち葉かき。大木4本で終わらないように感じますが、それも楽しい。ゴミ箱の落ち葉を子どもたちが踏んでもっと落ち葉を入れれるようにします。ハロウィンのイベントも始まりました。今年はけののピカチューの仮装だけ手作り。けのは寝ても覚めてもポケモンに夢中です。ポケモンのこと考えすぎてあんまり寝れなかったとか言ったりして、、初恋みたいだね。。

I'm enjoying my favorite season❤️ We visited orchard. I finally found fall color that I missed last year! D and I rake leaves together. Y and D stamp on leaves in trash bin so that more leaves can fit in. We have four huge trees. Two trees are done and two more to go. This year I made only K's Pikachu costume. He is so into Pokémon right now. One night he couldn't sleep well because he was thinking too much about Pokémon. Wow, that's the first love right there. Oh boy.

When is the last time I used my Nikon? We wanted to take a formal photo on A's baby blessing day and the day after. Baby A is getting cuter and cuter. I wish I could capture every moment.

First Day of School

Summer is over! Y and K's schools have started. They both love going to school. Wish them the great school year!!
長かった夏休みが終わってゆりとけのの学校がついに始まりました。二人とも喜んでいます。ゆりは週三日通います。来年はキンダーガーテンなので入学の手続きいろいろが始まります。けのは一年生になりました。これから毎日宿題が出るということで楽しみにしています。

New Born Baby Asa

我が家の新顔、朝陽(あさひ)くんです。ニックネームは英語風にエイサくん。病院到着後20分以内のスピード出産でした。それでも辛かったけど！元気に生まれてきてくれて、感謝でいっぱいです。お母さんが手伝いに来てくれておいしいもの食べさせてもらってゴロゴロしてます。

Our baby Asa was born on 8/10. He came out in 20 mins after arriving the hospital. Well, it was still very painful and hard.. I'm so grateful that he is doing well! Mom came to help us. So I'm taking very easy and well fed with yummy food:)

Garden 2017

今年は念願の家庭菜園に挑戦しました。信ちゃんが庭の一角を掘り起こして枠をつけてチキンワイヤーで野生の兎から守ったのが５月上旬。そこから種や苗を植えたのですが始めは雨が多くて成長はゆっくりで、その間にマムは興味を失ってしまいました。笑。陽がカンカン照り始めて瞬く間に成長を遂げたのが７月になってから。そこからゆるゆると収穫をできています。失敗した野菜もありますが、水やりもほとんど何もしてないのにこんなに採れることに驚きました。
It's about harvesting time in our garden. Shin made raised bed and protected our little garden from bunnies in the beginning of May. Then we planted different vegetables. Some got successful, some got eaten by animals, some just died. They grew very slow at the beginning. We had lots of rain. Then, I lost interest. lol. In July, the Sun started getting around and veggies grew super fast and brought their fruits. We didn't even water much but I'm surprised how fruitful they are!

Summer Break -week8

無事６週間の習い事が終わりました。二人とも毎週楽しみにしていて、とってもよかったので来年も何かしようと思います。間に１週間の休みを挟んで６週間はルーチンができて忙しく過ごせてよかったです。いろいろな公園や図書館の活動にも行きました。信ちゃんは週末にいろいろなフェアに連れて行ってくれて盛りだくさんなミネソタを満喫した夏になったと思います。これから夏休み最後の３分の１に突入です。来週からおかあさんが来てくれてわたしも産休、ということで今週は最後のひとがんばり、活動的にいきたいと思います。
K and Y completed their 6 week Summer classes. They loved it!! These weeks have passed as busy as I hoped with routine. Besides, we had play dates in different parks and community activities. K started reading chapter books and participated book club! Y and D (and Mommy and Daddy) read 100 books for the library's reading challenge. Daddy took them to different fairs and fun places in weekends. We totally enjoyed Twin Cities this Summer! I will finish up my Summer activities this week and prepare for giving birth next week:)

Minnesota Zoo

どこにも家族で行く予定もなくてさみしいな〜ということで丸一日珍しく空いていた土曜日にちょっと遠くの動物園まで行ってきました。近くにただの動物園もあるのだけど、、やっぱりこっちは見たこともない動物もたくさんいて楽しい遊び場もあって、一日中楽しめました。次が気になって疲れを気にせずたくさん歩いてちょっとお腹も下がってきたような気がします。動物大好きなけのは説明とかよく読んでました。楽しい思い出ができてよかったー
First time to visit Minnesota zoo! We enjoyed every minute there. Fun playground, unique animals in clean environment. Ken who loves wild animals spent a lot of time reading and learning. It was quite impressive. It was a nice family outing in a while!

summer break week2

新しいことが始まって忙しく過ごしました。この夏けのはテコンドー、ゆりはスケートを６週間習います。今週がその第一回目でした。どうかな？と思ったけど二人とも大好きだったみたいでまたすぐやりたい！と言っています。その他には図書館で移動動物園のイベントがあったりまた新しい公園に行ってみたりしました。そういえば先週の日曜日は大きな１０円玉サイズの雹が降りました。ものすごい音でびっくりして地下に避難したほど。うちは無事だったんだけど、畑やシャクヤクは折れたりぐったりしてしまったので満開の花を全部とって半分捨てて半分飾りました。いい香りが一週間も楽しめました。初めての畑は今ひとつですが、始めの年はこんなものなのかな。。レタスを摘んで子どもたちが食べてるところ。
It turned out to be a busy week. K started Tae Kwon Do class and he loves it!! Y's class is ice skating. She did very well for the first day! Besides, we went to our favorite Miller Park and tried Central Park of Brooklyn Park. Rockford Road Library RAD Zoo show was great. Y and K touched a crocodile and a python! Last Sunday, we had hail!! Each hail was like one inch big. It was so scary that we went downstairs. Our house was blessed with no damage but unfortunately our flowers and garden got quite damaged. I cut most of all flowers and had to throw some but mostly I placed on my table and could enjoy prettiness and smell for a whole week long! Our garden is doing not great but okay. Shin harvested some lettuce and baby spinach and fed kids just like that.

R.I.P Grandma

結婚してアメリカに来て、最も助けてくれたグランマが亡くなりました。心に穴が開いたようですが、グランマはグランパと同じ、もっと良い場所にいて、疲れ果てた体を置いて自由になったのだと考えると安心できます。リンクはグランマの人生をまとめたものです。グランマの人となりを表すのに"She was fun, kind, accepting, and loving to all."と書いてあります。グランマはまさにそういう人で、決して怒ったことがなく、ユーモアがあって笑いにかえてしまいます。失敗してグランマの思い出の写真のついたお皿から写真をほとんど 拭き取ってしまったことがあって、あんなにものを大切にしているグランマが全く気にしないでくれた、というのが今でも忘れられない思い出です。遠くからきた半分居候のわたしたちを愛して家族に入れてくれたグランマとグランパ、本当にありがとう。いつか彼らのような人にわたしたちもなれますように。

Summer Break

けのの学校は周りのほとんどの学校より一週間早く夏休みが始まったので、登録した夏のクラスも今週はないし、子どもの遊び場も人が少ないんじゃないか、と思い今週はがんばることにしました。用事も入っちゃって計画した全部は行けなかったんだけど、毎日いろんなことをして忙しく過ごしました。水曜日にはもうマムだけ疲れきっちゃって、昼寝三昧。でも夕方には子どもたちと歩いて買い物に行ってピザを作って食べました。がんばったな〜〜来週から夏のクラスが始まるしゆっくり過ごそう。八月には出産でおかあさんたちが来てくれるので華やかに過ごせそうです。楽しみだな〜
Ken's school ended one week earlier than the rest of most schools in the area. Most summer classes start next week because most students are still in school. I thought popular places are less crowded this week. Since we didn't have much to do without summer class, I decided to visit all those places this week! I had to change plans according to my errands, didn't get to visit them all but I did pretty good! I was in everywhere. Hyland park, Elm Creek Park, Como Zoo, Springbrook Nature Center, Maple Grove Central Park, Calhoun Beach... On Wednesday I was so tired that I slept all day long but we walked to store and bought ingredients and made pizza at the end of the day. What a week! I feel pretty accomplished. Next week, I will start routine. K and Y take one summer class every week for two months. After that, moms are coming and we will have a baby:) Happy Summer had a good start!! Yay!!

Last day of Kindergarten

けののキンダーガーテンの卒業式がありました。秋からは一年生です。中国語の学校で始めは全く興味が内容でしたが、今では中国語が大好きでいろんな中国語の歌を歌ったり簡単なことは理解して話せます。先生はけのはとっても優しい子で先生の喜びと言ってくれました。いろんなことを吸収して成長しているようでうれしいです。
Ken graduated from Kindergarten! I'm so happy that he loves his school, classmates and what he learns there!!

Last day of Preschool

ゆりの学校が一足先に終わりました。最後に卒業式がありました。秋からまだ同じ学校には行くのだけど。右下の写真が学校が始まったときの写真です。あんまり変わってないかな。でも笑顔がでてきておしゃべりもできるようになりました。学校ではみんなからゆりをもじってビューティーと呼ばれていたそうです。かわいいな〜教会の学校なので毎回聖書からお話を聞いて、イエスさまへの愛を深めました。先生もすばらしくて、本当によい一年間になりました。そして冬から通い始めたジムナスティックも一区切りで最後でした。
Yuri's preschool ended and had a graduation party. She will be back in the fall for three days program. The right down photo was taken at the beginning of school. She opened up a lot more since then. Other children called Yuri "Beauty". This is a church organized school. She learned different stories from the Bible and deepened her love to Jesus over the school year. Her teacher is also very Christian and Yuri loves her. I'm so happy for her! Gymnastic school also ended its semester and I took Y and D's tada photo:)

Happy Easter

今年はなぜかやる気があったのと、一緒に遊べるお友達ができたので初めて家でイースターパーティーしました♡ほんの気持ち程度ですが飾り付けて、いろいろ詰めたエッグを６０個作って、前日は子どもたちがカレーとゼリーを作るのを手伝ってくれました。楽しかった！イースターにかこつけて遊んだだけという話もありますが、、、主が死者に解放を告げたことを喜ぶイースター、本当に喜びを感じるし大好きです。
We had a fun Easter this year! Our very good church friend came to celebrate with us. My children had a good time preparing food the day before and absolutely enjoyed their friends company. Well, it was actually more like just getting together to have fun more than sharing Easter spirit..... but I think it is wonderful to have friends who believe in the same Gospel and love the Savior. Oh, I do love Easter! Such a joy!!

Spring Break

けのの春休みでした。一週間だったのだけど、ゆりのイースター休みともかぶったので信ちゃんが木金と休みを取ってくれました。どこかに行けるか調べていて、どうも乗り気がせず決まらずにいたのだけど、水曜の夜に信ちゃんが車で３時間半のところにある室内遊園地のお得情報を発見。早速木曜日に泊まりで行ってきました。近くに列車のレストランがあるというのでそこでランチを。小さな列車が席まで料理を運んでくれます。目下のところ機関車トーマスに夢中のだいは大興奮。これは来てよかった！と思いました。遊園地の方はけのが怖がってあまり乗れなかったのと、だいが小さくて乗れるのがほとんどなかったのでちょっと残念でした。でもできることをして遅くまで忙しく遊びました。次の日もやってみたいことはあったのだけどけのが具合が悪くなって朝一で退散しました。もうちょっと大きくなってからリベンジしたいな！でも楽しい思い出ができてよかった♡
For Ken's spring break, Shin found a great deal at the last minute for indoor theme park with hotel stay in Wisconsin Dells. Before the theme park, we stopped by at the train restaurant for lunch. There, small trains deliver kids meal order to your seat. Daiki was super excited every time the train passing by bringing meal. It is definitely worth going if you have a little two years old who is so in love with Thomas the tank engine. We had a lot of fun at the theme park as well, although I felt like it was kind of too early for our family. Ken got scared of some rides and didn't even want to give a try. Daiki was crying because he was too small to take most of ride. However, there was enough of other options for us that we could be busy whole afternoon. I'm looking forward to going back there when our children get older!!

ひな人形

お正月が終わってからクリスマスツリーを片付け、お母さんが送ってくれた豆雛を出しました。全部で２０センチほどのかわいらしいお雛様です。それも今日でおしまい！昨日はゆりちゃんと雛祭りと結婚の話（女雛＝お姫様＝お嫁さん）してました。ちゃんと貝のお吸い物も作ったけどわたし以外からは不評だったので来年は作らないでしょう。二月には旧正月のお祝いとだいき初めての雪だるま作りもありました。
It's already March! Our Japanese princess doll has to go back to storage again... I set her and other dolls out for a month to celebrate the girl's day March 3rd. My mom sent them for us last year. They are so tiny, about the size of thumb. Yuri and I talked about happy marriage as we looked at them. For celebration we eat clam soup and chirashi-zushi. Clam means to find a perfect husband like it's shells fit perfectly together. Well, my family, except me, didn't like it. So I'm not sure I will make it again... In February we celebrated Chinese New Year and we finally made a snowman for Daiki!! He was so excited and kept eating snow...
