Ken's Creations, Mom's Creations

外はようやく春めいてきました！冬、長かったな〜でもそのおかげで春が何倍もうれしい！冬の終わりのプロジェクトに転がっていた古着とはぎれのリメイクでゆにに服を何着か作りました。満足してるんだけど、ゆにはそれを着てポーズとるなんて粋なことしてくれないので残念。。けのはよくやってくれたのになあ！けのもどんどん絵が上手になってきて、楽しませてくれます。またアートコーナーの絵がいっぱいになりました。（ここに載せたあといつも捨てられる）けのが描いた、メリーさんの羊とクモの絵、わかるかな？自分で考えて絵が描けるようになったのがすごい！と思いました。
Long winter is coming to the end. We survived! Ken improved his drawing skill a lot over the winter. Now he can draw many different things. Can you find his Marry-and-Little-Lamb picture and Eensie-Weensie-Spider picture? He thought of drawing his favorite nursery rhyme all by himself! I was made Yuri's clothing to finish up all pieces of small fabric and old adult clothing. My project is done! I cleaned up most of fabric and had fun:) Too bad that Yuri is not willing to be my photo model. Remember? Ken used to do that for me.

ダイキ、転がる

ひなまつりでしたね〜。最近季節の図鑑を読んでいることもあり、謙遜ではなく実にささやかなお祝いをしました。ずっと病気で缶詰になっているのであるものでご飯したけど、来年こそははまぐりのお吸い物を作るぞ！（はまぐりの殻がぴったり合わさるようにぴったりな夫を見つけられますように、とゆにに伝えるために・・・）さて、先週の大ニュースは、だいくんが寝返りをうったこと！！早っ！！なんだか寝返りもだいくんの意思表示の一つのようで、興味深く見ています。そして今回もまた、アレルギーとの戦いが始まっています。。
It was a Japanese doll festival for girls. We celebrate this event for girls to grow up healthy and find good husbands. I'm usually bad at celebrating these traditional events but we made these little dolls and ate traditional food since we were stuck at home for sickness. It was good. I should do that every year so that Yuri would remember to find good man in the future:) Well, I have another thing to report. Dai turned over!! It is funny to watch him trying to roll over. I always wonder what he is thinking to do.

来たよ来たよ、親バカバレンタイン。子どもの写真で作ったカードを同僚に配ったっていうね。。けのとゆにはピンクのクッキーを焼いてみました。ここ数週間でいきなり大雪に立て続けに見舞われ、家に閉じ込められていたのでちょっと違うことできて楽しかったです。見よ、この立派なつらら。
We made some amazing chex mix and pink cookies for valentine's day. Ken and Yuri learned to be good bakers at school. They enjoyed baking cookies for their love ones! (and ate most of them…) We're mostly stuck at home because of snow and extreme coldness these days. Look at these huge icicles!

Dai 3 months

だいの幼児の祝福のときに家族写真を撮っていなかったことを後悔して１ヶ月も経っていますが、撮りました。うーん、でかい。けのが６ヶ月の時着ていたシャツが入らなくて、１歳のときのシャツがぴったりです。このベストくれた子も１歳の時これ着てたな・・なんて。貫禄！！顔見つめているとニカッって笑ってくれるんですが、それをカメラに収めるのが異常に難しい。なんとか数枚撮れましたが、実物はこの100倍かわいいです。
Daiki turned 3 month old. He is BIG! He is wearing what Ken used to wear when he is 1. I tried to catch his smile with my camera. It's hard.. I think he is 100 times cuter than these pictures!

Rhode Island

ずっと家に子どもといるのにうんざりしてしまって、土曜日に起きた時もうこれ以上は無理だ、と思いました。そこで信ちゃんにロードアイランドに泊まりで行こう！とお願いしてみたら、乗ってくれて、すぐにホテルを探してくれて出かけました。すばらしい息抜きだった〜ニューポートは大富豪の別荘が並ぶ保養地で、夏は賑わっています。冬はすっごく寒い！けど海は青くてとってもきれいなところでした。この19世紀の大富豪の建てた豪邸の中でもっとも有名な、ブレーカーズに行きました。写真は撮影禁止だったので上の写真はウェブサイトからお借りしました。最近お城の出てくる本を読んでいたので、やっとそれが頭の中で形としてイメージできるようになってすごく興味深かった！そしてシーフードのディナーを食べーの、ホテルのプールで遊びーの、で翌日ロードアイランドの教会に集って帰ってきました。充電できた感じ！信ちゃんありがとう！

At least one of us has been always sick and stayed at home in these days. When I woke up on Saturday, I thought I was done staying at home with kids!! I couldn't stand it any more!! So we decided to take a trip. In 1 hour later, Shin booked a hotel and we were off to Rhode Island. I wanted to see the mansion in New Port because I've been reading books that people live in a castle. We went to "the Breakers". I really enjoyed it! I never could imagine what the real castle is like before. It's gorgeous! We were not allowed to take pictures inside, so these pictures are from its website. We had seafood dinner, swam in hotel and enjoyed beautiful ocean view. Loved it!!

Happy Birthday Yuri!

ゆにの２歳の誕生日でした。大雪で外出が禁じられたので、朝からみんなでゆににバースデーソングを歌って、お祝いしました。ゆにが好きとわたしが思っているものを作って食べてごろごろして過ごしました。写真も撮ったけど、ゆにがかわいすぎて気づくとゆにの写真しかなく、コラージュが微妙になってしまった。。。プレゼントは日本から取り寄せた絵本です。せなけいこさんの絵本セットでこれがとってもよかった！読んでからすぐ覚えて引用して言葉遊びして、子どもたちも大好きでした。最近は好奇心旺盛で忙しいゆに。かわいくておもしろくて毎日笑わせてくれます。愛してるよ！

Everything was shut down due to heavy snow today. So we woke up and did Birthday song for the first thing in the morning. We gave her a set of Japanese picture books. We talked about these books all day long! She loved it!! I should have taken more different pictures like the heaviest snow this season or food I made for her today…, but I adore her so much that I was too busy to take besides her photos;9 She is currently very curious, mischievous but very cute! She makes us smile all the time. We love you, Yuri!!

These art works are mostly Ken's from preschool. Well, you can tell that he doesn't want any more siblings! Daiki is growing bigger and bigger. His head is steady now. He loves to be held vertical.

久しぶりの投稿です。けのの学校で描いた絵がたまってきました。なかなかかわいい絵を描くなあと親バカ。ここに書いてあるのは先生の字だけど、けのは名前を書くときに、KENを鏡で映したように正反対に書いてました。最近はもっぱらNEKです。ペンネームか！ちなみにアルファベットはまったく教えてないのだけど、学校で教えているのか、いつの間にか書いてます。だいくんは順調に大きくなってます。最近はにこにこしてくれてかわいい！

あけましておめでとうございます

いまさら、なタイトルですが。今年もよろしくお願いいたします。雪のないクリスマスでしたが、やっと雪が降ってけのが外で遊びたがっています。寒くなって外出も辛いのでクリスマスプレゼントにあげたビーズやペイントで遊んでます。ゆにには新しいフリース帽を作ってマムだけ満足！

Merry Christmas

メリークリスマスでした。なんだかアドベントはしてたけど、ぜんぜんクリスマスムードにならずまったく準備できてないままクリスマスイブになってしまいました。が、信ちゃんがクリスマスのデコレーションを買いに行こうと誘ってくれて、イブにクリスマスショッピングをして飾り付けして間に合いました♪子どもたちはクッキーを焼いたりダディーの顔をお皿に描いてプレゼントを作りました。イブにはずっと見たかった映画アニーも家族で見に行けてまむハッピー！今年のディナーは日本スタイルのローストビーフに、日本のレシピで焼いたチキンに挑戦。お友達が日本スタイルのラザニアとショートケーキを持って来てくれて、まるで日本にいるみたいなクリスマスディナーができました♡
We had a merry Christmas! I didn't do good job at getting ready for Christmas but Shin suggested me to do Christmas shopping on eve and so we did:) We bought little Christmas items and decorated living room then I felt so much better. Our Nativity is under the plastic this year just to be safe. We baked Christmas cookies and drew Daddy's face on a plate and made it a gift. On Christmas morning, we enjoyed gifts. Especially kids were excited about gifts from Shin's mom. We had dinner with our good friends. It was a good day!!

12 Days of Christmas

けの４歳になりました。早いなあ。相変わらずしっかりした、自慢の、いい子です。家族で誕生日会しようと思ったけど、体調がよくなくて撃沈。簡単にお祝いしました。一応部屋だけはかたづけたんだけど、、子どもたちが帰って来てあっという間に元通り。背景が散らかりすぎててここに載せられる写真があまりない次第です。そしてその三日後にはアドベントを始める予定で今日準備しました。中にはクリスマスの活動とキリストの生涯の絵が１枚ずつ入っています。うまくいくといいなあ。真ん中の写真は最近のアートコーナー。けのの絵がどんどんかわいくなってきてます。
Ken turned 4!! Time flies. He became so reliable that I'm proud of him. I wasn't feeling well that day so we just had a simple party. At least I cleaned up the room but when kids got home it got messy again pretty quick… so I don't have nice pictures to blog here. In 3 days after his birthday is the day to start our 12 days of Christmas. This year, I made bags activities and Christ's pictures inside. I hope to talk about the Savior everyday:)
