寝室が４つある家を探していたわたしたち、結局いい家が見つからず、代わりに自分たちで地下のファミリールームを寝室にすることにしました。10月半ばから11月末までの間、身を粉にして働き、満足の行く寝室ができあがりました！まず、天井を張り替えてから、壁にもう一枚足し（ウッドパネルをドライウォールにしたくて）、壁に穴をあけてシャワールームにつながるドアを設置、寝室のドアもつけました。もともとカウンターになっていたところを壊してクローゼットもつけました。左側二枚は改装前の写真です。（できあがりの写真以降、カーテンをつけて、絨毯やベッドカバーを買い替えてもうちょっと素敵になっています。）もともと夏も冬も寒すぎてほとんど使わなかった部屋が、新しいドアと壁と天井のおかげでとても暖かくなり、みんなが集まる場所になりました。いろんなことに挑戦して工具もたくさん増えたし、スキルもついた気がするので、もっといろいろやってみよう！という気持ちになりました。
We were looking for a four bedroom house but because we couldn't find it we decided to add one more bedroom by ourselves. We were not using the family room downstairs because it gets too cold. We changed drop-ceiling to drywall, wood panel wall to drywall and added closet, an entrance door and another doorway to shower room. It was kind of a big project. It took from mid-October to end of November, but we did it! We love how it turned out. The room got a lot warmer and everyone hangs out here now. Since got more DIY tools and skills, I am thinking of more projects to do in the future:)
