A winter day

盛りだくさんな1日でした！まずは旧正月になったので、一足先に年越したシンガポールの両親に前の日の夜挨拶しました。久々にドレスアップしました。朝みんなが学校に行っている間えいさは雪まつりへ。学校が終わった後、ゆりは誕生日会に行きました。ゆりの教会の同じ歳のこのクラスにはなんと５人も同じ週に誕生日を迎える女の子がいます。その五人で去年に引き続き今年も一緒にお祝いしました。みんな一緒にこのまま大きくなって一緒にBYUまで行けたら最高だな〜と思います。この最も寒い時期にプールで泳ぐという贅沢。その間男の子たちで近くの自然センターのイベントでアイスフィッシングに行ってきました。氷に穴が開けてあり小さな魚を餌に魚釣りします。テントの中は思いの外暖かいそうです。左下は餌の小さな魚のお尻を棒でつついて進ませるレースをしているえいさ。とてもミネソタの冬を満喫した一日となりました。
We had a wonderful day! After Japanese school Yuri went to birthday party. Her primary class has five girls that have birthday around the same time. They all turn 7 this week. I think that is such a blessing for Yuri. I hope they all grow up together and even go to college together. It is the coldest time of the year but they went swimming. On the other hand, my boys went their very first ice fishing! That was so interesting. It was the Nature center’s free event. Boys raced their fish food which was small fish. They touched fish tail with stick then fish swam forward. They said inside of fishing tent was so warm but didn’t catch any fish. The event provided hot cocoa and sled as well. In the morning while others were in school, Asa went to snow sculpture event. Also, it was Chinese New Year. We all dressed up and wished a wonderful year.
