Alaska2026

 念願のアラスカに行けました～！！超よかった！！Yは日本にいたので5人で行きましたが、男ばかりなので雨の中岩をよじ登るように山登ったりキャンプしたり冒険感あふれる旅になりました。クルーズではクジラとシャチの狩りも何度も見れて興奮でした！キーナイフィヨルド国立公園では氷河が見れて感動。デナリ国立公園にも行きました。デナリはアメリカでもっとも高い山で、高すぎるためにいつも雲がかかっていて、めったに見ることができないのですが、帰りの車の中で一瞬見ることができました。アラスカの美しい自然に圧倒され通しでしたが、同時に破壊されていく自然も目の当たりにして少し悲しくなった旅でもありました。

Finally we got to go to Alaska!! Just 5 of us flew there sinceY was in Japan. It was adventurous. We climed the rock in the rain and camped. Cruis was awesome. We were able to see whales hunting. It was beautiful. Gracier in Kenai Fjords National Park was breath taking but it was kind of sad to see how it is getting smaller every year due to grobal warming. Whales are also disappearing due to pollution. We visited Denali National Park as well. Denali is the highest mountain in US. It is so high that it is usually surrounded by clouds and it's hard to see actually. We were able to see it just a bit while driving back.

Spring2026

Dはアロン神権の執事になり、一緒に神殿に行ってきました！Kは9年生が終わって中学校の建物から卒業しました。ユタに引っ越してきたときはすごく嫌がってたけど、中学校はめちゃくちゃ楽しんでいたように見えました。今年度はクロスカントリーをはじめて熱心に走りました。そこでできたお友達はいい子たちばかりで宝物です。一緒に神殿にも行ってます。そしてバイオリンのレッスンも受け始めました。音色が格段に良くなりました。Yも初めての中学生活を修了しました。友達もたくさんできて楽しかったようです。Yは吹奏楽を選んでフルートを吹いてました。この前のワードのタレントショーで友だちとダンスを披露して青春してました。そしてついにわたしは庭のリメイクを完成しました！手入れしやすくなったし水の無駄が減ってすごく気に入ってます。

D was ordained as a deacon and we were able to visit the temple together. K finished 9th grade. He disliked moving to Utah first but I think he really enjoyed going to junior high here. He joined cross country and ran faithfully. He had a personal precord every meet. Cross country friends are wonderful. He has been to the temple with them. We started taking him to private violin lesson and his violin got so much better in my opinion. Y finished 7th grade. She loved playing the flute in her band. She danced with her church friends at talent show. The had matching shirts and everything. It was so cute. I finally finished my yard project! It was so fun and rewarding. It is so easy to take care now.

Christmas2025

Kが15歳になりました！早速仮免許を取ってきました。そしてなんと牛乳アレルギーが治ったので生クリームのケーキでお祝いしました。今年のクリスマス休暇はセントジョージに行ってきました。スノーキャニオン、レッドクリフの短いけど、すごく景色のいい、おいしいトレイル歩きました♪

K turned 15. He got driver's permit and started learning driving now. He grew out of dairy allergy finally, so I made traditional japanese birthday cake - fluffy sponge cake with whipped cream. We went to St. George on Christmas break and hiked Snow Canyon and Red Cliff. It was beautiful and spectaculer.

日本旅行2025

 シンガポールに行く途中と帰りに日本に行ってきました。今回は成田から車で友だちのいる福岡まで信ちゃんが運転しました！おかげで主要な都市に寄れました。東京、京都、大阪、福岡、横浜で1-2泊しました。わたしが体調不良で京都を全然観光できなかったのが残念ですが、DとAも疲れていて全く観光しませんでした。実家では姉家族にも久しぶりに会えてうれしかったです。Yは同じ年の女の子のいとこたち3人で意気投合して買い物に行きました。日本でいろいろおいしいもの食べたけど、やっぱり一番はコンビニです。日本のコンビニが好きすぎて何度も行きました。

We visited Japan before and after Singapore. Shin drove from Narita to Fukuoka where our friends live this time. We were able to visit big cities in Japan, like Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Fukuoka, Yokohama. I was too sick to see anytihng in Kyoto, which was a bummer, and A&D didn't do it either. We were able to see my sisters' families at home. Three girls cousins at same age were finally able to get together. They got along very well and went even shopping together. We ate tons of good food in Japan but my favorite place to go is the convenience stores. They are the best. We went there at every chance.

Asa's Baptism

 そもそもこの旅行の目的はえいさのバプテスマ会を信ちゃんの両親のいるところでしようということでした。えいさが最後の赤ちゃんなので、ちょっとがんばりました！ちょうど誕生日が日曜日だったので、教会の後で家族9人と、ビショップとグマのお友達という少人数でバプテスマ会をしました。小さな会だからこそ、えいさが聖約を交わすということとみんながえいさを愛しているっていう大切なことに集中できて、とてもすばらしい会となりました。なんとシンガポールの教会ではお湯は出ないようで、えいさは水に入ったら冷たくて驚いていました。決して忘れられない思い出になったことでしょう！

The ultimate purpose of coming here or doing this trip in the first place is to hold Asa's baptism meeting with Shin's family. He is our last baby so we definitely wanted to make it especially special. It was held after church on his birthday! Just 9 of us and bishop, and guma's close friends were there. It was a small meeting. That's why we were able to focus on the most important thing, which was that Asa made a covenant with God and we love him. Apparently, church in Singapore doesn't have warm water. Asa was surprized at cold water in the font. I guess that made his baptism unforgettable for him.

シンガポール旅行2025

 夏がほとんど終わってからシンガポールと日本に合わせて3週間行ってました！最高でした。子どもたちも大きくなって旅を楽しめるようになったし、いろんな経験をすることができてよかったです！久しぶりに行ったシンガポールはやっぱり綺麗で安全で自然も都会も充実してて、家族にも会えて、めちゃくちゃ楽しかったです。上の三人はホーカーセンターで中国語で自分で注文してました！Kはこのとっても暑い気候の中ダディと一緒に走ってました。Yは買い物天国でした。子どもたちは実家に泊まらせてもらって、わたしたちはホテルに泊まって、まるでハネムーンのようでした。

We went to Singapore at the end of summer for 3 weeks. It was AMAZING. Kids are grown enough to be able to enjoy the trip finally. We were able to see our family and try different stuff. Singapore is so nice. It has everything. It's clean and safe. It has the beautiful nature and city which includes lots of yummy restaurants and huge shopping malls. Three older ones were able to order their food in Chinese at hawker center. K still ran with daddy in the humid weather. Y enjoyed shopping. Kids stayed at Shin's parents' house and we stayed at hotels by ourselves. It was like our honeymoon.

Summer 2025

この夏はほとんど個人的なプレイデートを計画してませんでしたが、なんだかあっという間に過ぎていきました！子どもたちが大きくなって自分でしたいことをするようになったというのもあるかもしれません。Kは毎日クロスカントリーのチームメートと一緒にそこここを走っていました。まだ中学生でしたが、秋から高校生ということで夏からすでに活動に加わってたようです。（ちなみに秋からは高校のレースにも参加するようになり、毎回タイムを縮めていくのを見るのが最高でした。夏からがんばっていたからだろう）Yは小学校を卒業したばかりですが、すでに秋からに備えて、6月は毎日、中学校でバンドの練習に行ってました。今やフルートを吹いています、すごく誇りを持っています。そして7月には若い女性のガールズキャンプがありました。ナント！4日間もありました。指導者たちが偉すぎる！もちろん最高だったみたいです。DとAは毎日プールに行きました。Dは初めは水に浮くこともできない感じでどうしたらいいのかと思いましたが、なんだか毎日プールに行っているうちに自分で25メートルも泳げるようになっていました。すごい！（せっかくなので秋になってからスイミングレッスンに行かせ始めました。）わたしは5月にパティオを完成させました！そして家庭菜園は大成功で、食べられないくらい採れました～。お友達にたくさんあげました。そしてプライマリーの活動リーダーになっていたので、定期的な活動を計画してました！めちゃくちゃ楽しかったです。
 I didn't plan playdate much this summer but it went so fast. I guess kids are big enough to entertain themselves now. K went running everyday with his cross country team. He decided to join in XC team at high school and he started to run with them already. (It was exciting to see how he shortened his time at every race in the fall! It all started in the summer.) Y graduated from elementary and decided to join in a band. She went to junior high school everyday for summer band in June. She plays the flute now. She is pretty proud of it! She also had her first girls camp with YW. It was 4days camp. I am amazed at how dedicated these YW leaders are. She absolutely had a wonderful time. I took D&A to pool for swimming. At first, D couldn't float. He was sinking. I didn't know how to teach but he went swimming everyday and somehow taught himself how to swim. By the end of summer, both of them were swimming 25m! Amazing. (I decided to make them swim even after summer and put them into swimming class at rec center in the fall.) I finished making patio in May and my garden rocked. I had so much harvest more than we could have. I shared tons with friends. I was a primary activity leader and regulary hosted fun activities for primary children at church. I loved doing it!! 

Grand Teton National Park

 

さすが夏休みの週末でイエローストーンは混んで渋滞してたので思いのほか時間がかかってしまい、グランドテトンに着いたのはもう3時くらいでした。とにかく山並みが美しく、のどかな自然に癒されました。ハイキングの途中ではなんと結構近い距離でクマに遭遇！良い思い出になりました。

Yellow Stone National Park

 

アメリカに50ある国立公園を全部巡ろうという目標があるのですが、今年はまだどこにも行ってないね、ということでグランドテトンに行こうとしてましたが、せっかく行くなら子どもたちがまだ行ったことないイエローストーンにも寄ろうということでイエローストーン国立公園に行きました。時間の関係で今回は有名どころのミッドガイザーとオールドフェイスフルだけ見ましたが、熱い地熱と自然の不思議が感じられてとても行ってよかったです。

Crator of the Moon National Monument

 週末に急遽思い立ってワイオミングにある国立公園に行ってきました。こちらは月のクレーターというナショナルモニュメントです。火山の名残の公園で、マグマが冷えてできた地形なのですが、異世界感があってすごく気に入りました。トンネル状の洞窟がすごくよかったです。インディアナジョーンズになった気分でした。
