First Day of School

コロナ禍であやぶまれた新学期ですが、ハイブリッドモデルで学校が始まりました。だいきは週４日、ゆりとけのは２日ずつ別の日に行っています。中国語のイマージョンとしてはかなり効果が薄いと思うのですが、まあ仕方ないです。学校があるだけありがたく、子どもたちは学校がある日を心待ちにしています。学校がない日に友だちと中国語を話せる時間を作ったり、今まで全く無関心だった中国語に母も協力するようになったのはよい事だと思います。けのは一個下の友だちに中国語を教えています。家にいる日に日本語学校の宿題もできるので、いつも日本語学校の宿題をやっていた放課後の時間にテレビやゲームができるようになっている今日この頃、もし学校が普通に始まったらどうなるのかとちょっと逆に心配だったりします。

Kids started school with hybrid model. D goes to Kindergarten for four days a week. Y and K go to school for two days. I have two children stay at home everyday. As it is immersion program, this is not so efficient for language learning. However we are just grateful for school to be open in this situation. I used not to pay much attention to their school work but I am now, which is a good thing. We parents corporate to help them have opportunity to use Chinese. Ken is practicing Chinese and learning how to teach at the same time. Now that we have more time, they can finish Japanese school homework within the school hour and have time to play games. I don't know if they get upset when school opens 5 days then no time for game anymore.
