Frontenac State Park

今年も独立記念日の休日はキャンプに行ってきました。当然なんですけど、今は蚊が大発生している時期なので、蚊の少ないキャンプ場で検索してたどり着いた、この州立公園に行ってきました。確かに蚊が数える程しかいなくて、何故か考えてみたら多分標高が高いせいかなと思いました。高い景色、崖を楽しむことができる公園です。初日は間違えてとんでもなく難しいトレイルに行ってしまい、崖の下まで散々降りました。子どもたちがすごくがんばりました。キャンプ中のご飯は今回は信ちゃんが計画、炊事してくれて、豪華にもカレーライスとお好み焼きをしてくれました。キャンプファイヤーはただただマシュマロを焼くためだけに起こすというね。そして夜にはなんとテントの屋根の下にホタルが入ってきて、ピカピカ光っていました。とっても綺麗でした！翌日は別の丘の頂上をぐるっと廻るトレイルに行ってみました。一つのトレイルで全然違う景色がいくつも見れて大満足でした。何もしなくてもテントで過ごすっていうだけでキャンプってすごくいいなぁと思いました。
We went camping on July 4th. I researched the campsite that has less mosquitos. Then got Frontenac State Park. It was true. I saw very few of mosquitoes in fact. I assume it’s due to the altitude. You can see cliffs and bluffs in this park. We took a difficult hike by mistake on the first day. We went down high cliffs all the way. Kids did really though. Shin prepared meals. We had Japanese curry rice and okonomiyaki. We made fire to just roast marshmallows. In the night, fire flies came into the tent roof. It was beautiful. The next day, we took a different trail to go around the top of hill. It took us to variety of  different sceneries. I really enjoyed it. I learned that I don’t have to do anything special at camping. Just being there already makes me feel refreshed.
